Science and technology are critical elements in socio-economic development of the society now. The science and technology development program of KGVS aims to build development tradition essential to finding the answers that effect change. This development program was organized in sono block in Jamui district in Bihar with a focus on development of ICT material for NFE. 2 NFE centers are running by KGVS in the block for the poor children of the ST community in the age group of 6-14 years. Under the program, videos were also produced for adoption of best farming practices as well as for the extension services by the small and marginal farmers through pico- projectors in the villages.
Under this program, practices for natural farming and development of organic materials were promoted in Jehanabad, Patna, Gaya, Jamui and Madhubani districts in Bihar. 63 new vermin compost pits were formed with Amrit Jal, Nimastra, Brahamastra and bio-fertilizers were promoted in 21 villages of these districts. Promotion of drip irrigation was initiated during the year especially for the Horticulture development. The Family drip Irrigation System was launched and 23 new farmers installed in their field. The production of vegetables increases 40% through such intervention and 2500-3500/month additional income ensured to theses family.
